About Us

The passion for good furniture started about 50 years ago when I purchased three Victorian Chaises Longues for the price of 2 in a junk shop. At this point in my life I ran a successful fashion tie business with my wife Susan but was exploring my interest in Antiques. Within a short time we owned far more furniture and accessories than we needed & took a room in the Eton Antique Market (near Windsor) in order to sell the surplus. A great place to start learning the trade & meet interesting characters.

Within a year the shop at Wokingham was obtained and the serious business of antique dealing began. The tie business was dropped in favour of the far more exciting world of Antiques. We teamed up with my father to run Angel Antics which evolved into Angel Antiques. Fun years of buying and selling eventually developed into the more fashionable business of fabulous reproduction pine furniture, in fact we were one of the first shops to make the switch.

All the time a quest for quality merchandise continued. My father retired and my son Mark came into the business which flourished for many years. Mark quickly learned the art of restoring damaged & defective pieces & decided to manufacture products himself, becoming an accomplished furniture maker.

The father/son business developed rapidly, eventually running two workshops, one in Somerset in partnership with a talented furniture maker Graham Ross and our own specialising in tables. We now sell fantastic ranges of Oak furniture which we import from Lithuania, Poland & Belgium and work directly with some of the factories who produce ranges exclusively for us which are made to our designs and specification.

The quest for interesting & affordable furniture continues whilst still modifying & manufacturing pieces to suit our customer’s ever increasing desire for something different, with an eye for design and quality.

Hopefully our website speaks for itself but a visit to us will give us a chance to offer you expert advice & maybe a small dose of humour.. ..if you want it.
